UNITED AFTER SNEIJDER
Manchester United fans have been banging on for some time about getting a suitable replacement for Paul Scholes, and we'd probably say they would be happy if this one came off.
According to The Sunday Mirror, United are set to make an 'audacious' bid to bring Sneijder in from Inter Milan, despite him signing a new contract keeping him in Italy until 2015.
The paper claims Sneijder is happy in Milan, but his 'head has been turned' by United's interest.
And they quote Inter top dog Massimo Moratti as saying: "The interest from Manchester United in Sneijder is real, but I didn't look into it. My only interest is seeing Sneijder play here for many more years to come."
The midfielder would apparently cost something in the region of £40million, which could be a problem.
Or they could go for a cheaper option...
