Both his manager and his defensive partner have today (Tuesday) praised John Terry's captaincy skills.

The defender has been tipped to be reinstated as England captain by Fabio Capello next week for the European Championship qualifier against Wales and a friendly against Ghana, and his Chelsea colleagues are in full support of the 30-year-old.


'I can say nothing, it is the decision of the national team, but I think he will be happy for this,' said Carlo Ancelotti.' John Terry is our captain, he is here a lot of time, he is a Chelsea man, a Chelsea player, and he has the personality to be captain here.'

Branislav Ivanovic, who has played alongside Terry since 2008, added his backing for the skipper.

'I can say I am lucky because everywhere I play I have great guys with me and great captains, for my national team and Chelsea, so I can just say good words,' said the Serbian.

'When I arrived John Terry was already captain of Chelsea and with how he is doing with everyone, all the club, he will be captain at the end of his career.

'He is great, you can see how he plays in his performances, everything, so I can say nothing more.'
